The purpose of the kick-off meeting is to review the whole project and to distribute the tasks between the individual project partners. Two members of each project partner are invited to the meeting, of which one person should be the project partner coordinator for this project, responsible for carrying out the tasks, financial supervision and all the activities. At the meeting, objectives of the project are presented in details along with the timetable and milestones. Partners agree about their roles and responsibilities.
Each partner organization recruits ambassadors in its own country through publication of positions taking into account local conditions.
Candidates for junior ambassadors have to meet the certain criteria, ten ambassadors need to be selected in each organization for the purpose of project implementation.
The recruitment of candidates is conducted based on individual interviews with candidates, and their references.
Ambassadors initial meeting & seminar
Project partners organize an initial meeting and seminar for the ambassadors, where they motivate and inspire ambassadors for their work and contribution further in the project and provide to them some basic information about national and world program, policies and rules of fight against doping. The initial meeting and seminar is delivered with youth-friendly approach in methods to set the good introduction for the whole project.
A training program in the form of a 5-day educational camp is organized by SLOADO for selected ambassadors. Educational camp program and content is prepared by project team, which means that all partner countries will actively participate in the preparation and implementation of the camp. The aim of the camp is to disseminate knowledge about the fight against doping among junior ambassadors, and to improve and consolidate their presentation and communication skills.
Recruitment of additional ambassadors & educational seminar
Partner organization have an option to organize educational seminar with the purpose of broadening the group of ambassadors at the local (regional) level. Seminars are organized separately by each organization and carried out according to predetermined objectives, with the support and under the supervision of leading organization. Ambassadors, who gained their knowledge at educational camp, are actively involved in implementation of this seminar and play the role of tutors to new ambassadors in further activities.
A midterm meeting with project partners is organized with the purpose of reviewing the reports on the activities carried out by individual organizations and planning the activities for the year 2016. Project team will prepare a detailed implementation plan.
Doping prevention and awareness-raising activities
Prevention and awareness-raising activities are conducted on peer-to-peer basis. Implementation plan is designed for each organization to conduct as many preventive and awareness-raising activities in their country as possible. Key players for all activities are anti-doping ambassadors with the help of their organizations. Prevention and awareness-raising programs is prepared and implemented for different target groups on grassroots level of sport, such as primary and secondary schools students, participants at school sport competitions, members of junior teams in sport clubs or federations, participants in mass (recreational) sport events etc.
Play True Day
Following the footsteps of 17 South American countries, which, in cooperation with WADA and based on the Montevideo Declaration, declared 10th of April as "Play True Day”, all project partners will carry out numerous doping prevention activities on this day. Prevention activities can be implemented as part of different sport competitions or other events for youth and in close cooperation with community and sport organizations on local and regional level.
The final event is a major dissemination activity used for the presentation of project results in an interactive way to all stakeholders, the professional circles and the public. Ambassadors play a great part in designing the event and implementing it accordingly. The project outcome is presented using a large variety of means ranging from posters to presentations. All partners present their project outcome and ideas for further prevention and awareness-raising activities in their countries.
